Junior Small Bore Rifle is open to all juniors from the age of 9 to 20. We meet on most Tuesday nights from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Check Douglas Ridge Rifle Club's calendar for the dates that the program is held. DRRC furnishes all rifles, ammunition, and equipment. There are no fees to participate in the program. Junior participants do not need to be a club member. Parent participation is strongly encouraged (parents are not required to be club members). Gun safety is strictly adhered to. We currently teach 3-position Olympic style shooting.

Shooters that are new to the program should show up at 4:30 PM. They will be given training on firearm safety and shooting fundamentals before they are allowed on the firing line. After the first night, junior shooters may return any scheduled Tuesday to continue practicing.

Junior shooters who excel will be given the opportunity to participate in shooting matches. Shooters from this program have gone to national matches and the Junior Olympics.

There are over 50 colleges offering college scholarships in shooting. 3-position small bore and air rifle are both NCAA sports. There are about 250 colleges that have shooting activities.
