Military Service Bolt Action Rifles To Be Part Of CMP Match

We had a very successful CMP season last year with lots of participants new to CMP and M1 Garands. We all had a great time and our discipline is growing. We had some regulars shoot their service bolt action rifles at our CMP matches. Normally our CMP matches are restricted to M1 Garands, M1A's, and AR15's, however, we will continue to allow military service bolt action rifles with iron sights. They must be in military configuration. Course of fire and match rules are the same for bolt action rifles.

This would be a great opportunity to break out your Springfield 03's or 03A3's, Mausers, Enfields, Krags, or even your M44 and just come out and have some fun. Our CMP matches are fun matches with the emphasis put on safety, learning, and fun.

Questions regarding CMP can be directed to Charlie at 503 351-8360 or webmaster@douglasridge.org.

May 7, 2010 Class Instruction (Pre registration required)
May 8, 2010 200/300/600 Yard Match
Our May CMP match is going to be combined with the Casscade League High Power match. The Casscade League match is very similar to CMP with many iron sight service rifles and is run much like a CMP match. There are a couple minor differences that will be discussed at our class on May 7th. This will be a fun match so be sure and come out. If it has been a while or if you have never shot a cross course match it would be a good idea to attend the May 7th class for a refresher on pit operations. This will also be an 800 agg match so you will need more ammo and cost for CMP shooters using club ammo will be $40.00 (includes $10 match fee).
