On the 25th of February 2017 at 10 AM we will be holding a seminar at the Trap Club House which will cover the games of 5 Stand and Sporting Clays. It has been 8 years since these games were shot here at Douglas Ridge and we are looking forward to starting this program again.

The subjects covered will consist of the following:

  • Rules and regulations of each program
  • Instructions on all trap machines
  • Cost per shooter
  • Squadding of shooters
  • Safety standards
  • Environmental concerns
  • Junior Shotgun events
  • PITA events
  • Trap programs
The Sporting Clay program is a very popular discipline with members and non-members alike. If we are to bring back this discipline, it is imperative we have ample help to stage these events. We will need at least 7 personnel to set up, run and clean up for Sporting Clays and on 5 Stand we need 5 personnel to set up, run and clean up.

The instructors for this seminar will be: Hal Halverson, 5 Stand and Sporting Clays; Dick Jennings, Trap; Dale Nelson, Junior Programs, Mike Holder, Chief Range Safety Officer

This Seminar is being held to train regular help as well as all folks that are interested in joining the program as a shooter. When we get started, we will squad DRRC members with non-members to insure consistency on the course.
